The health condition of Citizens in the United States is an integral part of our nations economic recovery. It is very easy to see that stress is fueling alot of the health problems in the community. High unemployment low balling on wages and the band plays on. Plus in the minority community Black Males for example have a 13 % unemployment rate compared to the national White male average of 6.7 % . Now also add that it has been discovered some of the nations largest banks have systematically placed higher interest rates on loans for Minorities (directly Black Males). Is it any wonder that Black Males have the lowest life expectancy than any other population in America? Yet the disparity that Black Males exhibit in developing and dying from chronic diseases (chronic defined by a disease that can be prevented) I contend is not because men (especially black men) are not going to the doctor, but because Black Men suffer from stress more than any other group in this country. Sure early detection is a factor for survival. However I qualify that statement by looking at Bob Barker, the old host of the Price Is Right. Who also had abundant resources and less stress than the average black man probably is observed by a Health Care Provider more than likely twice a month. In the same token I saw Les Brown. a motivtional speaker whose most notable acheivement was that he was maried To superstar Gladys Knight ( from the fame R&B singing group Gladys Knight and the Pips) is a Prostate Cancer survivor. He had a revolutionary treatment that essentialy cured ( for lack of a better term) his prostate cancer He contends that he has health care that he pays $5000.00 dollars a month. I guess my point is, is that if you are not stessed out by being oppressed or consistently discreminated against and have resources you are less lickely to get these chronic ailments or equally as important die form them . What do you think?

Stimulus that will stop America from eroding from the Inside Out
February 2, 2009The last presidential election, the Republicans
rallying cry was Obama wants to distribute the
wealth. President Obama’s victory shows that the
Country is yearning for this type of Change.
We are in need of major infrastructure mainte-
nance. Yes the roads and bridges need repair,
however our social programs are in need of re-
pair. I do not consider money to shore up edu-
tion on Sexually Transmitted Diseases that is on
rise unneeded. It appears that our states are
operating on a deficit and cutting much
needed programs that support there populus.
For example there recently was a case were a 13
year old girl was reported missing and later found
dead. After further investigation it was discov-
ered that the child was a foster child and that the
foster mother was being charged for the childs
death. Last year in Washington D.C. there was a
fatal discovery of 4 young girls found dead in
a home. This tragic event was only magnified
by the fact that this home was supposed to be
under investigation by a social agency because
the school reported that the children were
reported with scars and dishelved clothing
as well as reports of truancy from their
school. There are many failures sited in this case
but the overwhelming failure had to do with bud-
get cuts and the addition of another case to an
over-worked under staffed child welfare staff
in the District of Columbia. This is a reality
throughout the country. The sad thing about
this social errosion is that it has been going
on for years.
Listen to the podcast associated with this
article and hear what is really going on
with our nations Foster Care Program
and why the spending recommended in the
current stimulus bill should not be considered
